Duct Services for Real Comfort in Every Room

Hot upstairs, cold downstairs. One bedroom is always stuffy. The system runs nonstop, but your home never feels quite right. Most people blame the furnace or AC but often, the real problem is hiding in the ductwork.

Our family has seen it for generations: leaky, undersized, or poorly designed ducts forcing your system to work harder while your family stays uncomfortable. That’s why we offer duct services (but not duct cleaning) focused on fixing the root of the problem, not just vacuuming dust and calling it a day.

For more than 100 years, Favret Heating & Cooling has helped homeowners in and around Columbus improve comfort, air delivery, and system performance through thoughtful duct design, repair, and modification.

Why We Focus on Duct Services Not Duct Cleaning

We don’t offer duct cleaning, and that’s on purpose. In many homes, the biggest issues aren’t a little dust in the ducts—it’s:

  • Ducts that are too small or too big for the system
  • Long, restrictive runs that choke airflow
  • Leaky joints wasting the air you already paid to heat or cool
  • Poorly placed supply and return vents

Duct cleaning can make things look better, but if the air can’t move properly, comfort and efficiency will still suffer. Our services are built around what actually changes how your home feels:

  • Correcting design and sizing issues
  • Sealing leaks and tightening connections
  • Adjusting and balancing airflow room by room
  • Custom metal fabrication for better transitions and fittings

We’d rather solve the problem than polish it.

What Our Duct Services Include

Every home is different, but here are some of the ways we help homeowners get more from their systems by improving ductwork:

  • Duct repair & reconstruction: Fixing crushed, disconnected, or poorly installed ducts that starve rooms of air.
  • Custom duct fabrication: Using our metal shop to create smooth, properly sized transitions and fittings that reduce noise and resistance.
  • Airflow balancing: Adjusting dampers and registers so each room gets the right amount of air—no more “favorite vent” you have to stand over.
  • Duct modifications for new equipment: When you upgrade with Furnace Repair, replacement, or AC work, we ensure the duct system can support the new equipment.
  • New or added duct runs: For additions, finished basements, or spaces that were never comfortable, we design and install ducts to bring conditioned air where you need it.

We’ll inspect your current layout, explain what we see, and prioritize fixes that give you the biggest improvement for your investment.

Our Core Values in Every Duct Project

When you invite us into your home, you’re trusting us with more than sheet metal and airflows, you’re trusting us with your comfort. Our five core values guide every duct job we take on:

  • One Team: Our office staff, comfort consultants, and field technicians work as one, so your experience feels organized and seamless from first call to final test.
  • Do the Job Right: We won’t tape over a problem that needs to be rebuilt. We choose lasting solutions over quick patches that don’t hold up.
  • Attention to Detail: Properly sealed joints, correct fittings, thoughtful placement—small details that make a big difference in noise, comfort, and efficiency.
  • Favret Legacy: For generations, our family has been known for quality craftsmanship in Central Ohio. Every duct system we touch reflects that pride.
  • Clear and Honest Communication: We explain what’s happening, what we recommend, and why. No jargon. No pressure. No surprises on your invoice.

This is how we’ve earned the trust of families all over Columbus—and why so many of them call us back when they’re ready for the next improvement.

Frequently Asked Questions About Favret Hearing & Cooling

No. We don’t provide duct cleaning because, in most homes, the bigger issues are leaks, poor design, or airflow restrictions, not a bit of dust. Our focus is on duct services that improve real comfort, efficiency, and system performance.

Common signs include rooms that never feel as comfortable as others, noisy vents, weak airflow, and higher energy bills. If your furnace or AC seems fine but comfort is still uneven, it’s often a duct issue. We can inspect your system and show you exactly what we find.

Yes. When ducts are restrictive or leaky, your equipment has to work harder and run longer to meet the thermostat setting. Improving the duct system can reduce strain on the entire HVAC system and support more reliable operation over time.

If you’re tired of playing “musical vents” and guessing which room will be uncomfortable today, it might be time to look beyond duct cleaning and fix the real issues inside your system.
